About Rachel Devick | Equine Bodyworker in Ocala, FL
I’m Rachel Devick, founder of Balanced Holistic Therapies and an FEI Permitted Equine Therapist based in Ocala, Florida. With over 20 years of hands-on horse experience, my work combines science, intuition, and a deep respect for the athlete behind the movement.
My journey into equine bodywork started when I was 18 and enrolled in an online equine sports massage course. At the time, I was preparing for a future in veterinary medicine and wanted to better understand equine anatomy. Life took me in a different direction, and although I never sat for the certification exam, that early exposure sparked a lifelong fascination with how horses move, heal, and communicate through their bodies.
Over the years, I’ve worked as a veterinary technician, barn manager, and competitive dressage rider—all of which have shaped my holistic, performance-focused approach to equine care. I hold an Associate of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Business and Organizational Management with an emphasis in Agribusiness and Equine Science.
From Personal Healing to Professional Practice

In 2018, when my previous horse Otto became lame, I was introduced to PEMF therapy. The transformation it brought to his comfort and performance changed the course of my career. Since then, I've made it my mission to help other horses feel their best—whether they’re coming back from injury, prepping for competition, or simply in need of support.

Thanks to that experience, I earned my USDF Bronze Medal in 2022 and am currently pursuing my Silver and Gold medals with my current horse, Scotty. Scotty’s own complex rehab journey led me to explore deeper soft tissue therapies and enroll in advanced training like Neuro Fascial Conditioning (NFC) and Rib Entrapment Syndrome Therapy (REST)—two cutting-edge techniques that have become integral to my work.(Otopia is Pictured in the top Photo, Don Nero is Pictured in the middle, Scotty and I from our recognized first show together at the bottom.)

I offer customized equine bodywork that supports full-body alignment, neuromuscular function, and performance longevity. Whether your horse is rehabbing, competing, or simply needing to move more freely, I tailor each session using a combination of soft tissue therapies.

Why It Matters
I believe horses deserve to feel good in their bodies—and that bodywork, when done with intention and precision, can help them achieve balance, improve performance, and stay sound longer.
